Overview
Per Diem Radiologic Technologist (X-Ray/Rad Tech) — Bridgewater, NJ
PM Pediatric Care is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiologic procedures in a pediatric urgent care setting under physician supervision. This role maintains effective working relationships with patients, families, physicians, employees, volunteers, and vendors.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations
Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake
Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety
Obtain quality diagnostic radiographs as requested by physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants
Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Maintain and document daily quality control of radiology equipment at the start of shift
Document repeat exposures and parent holding log with pocket dosimeter read
Assist in radiology quality assurance program for radiography equipment
Immediately report any equipment malfunctions to management
Help patients in distress by promptly notifying medical staff of emergencies
Assist in collection of throat and nasal specimens and process samples for testing
Assist in processing of laboratory testing of patient samples and routine QA testing
Apply splints, ace wraps and DME devices on patients; provide patient education on crutch use
Be an integral part of the patient care team; keep exam and X-ray room stocked with supplies
Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA-compliant handling of information
Contribute to a positive healthcare practice reputation by taking initiative and supporting value-added tasks
Qualifications
Graduated from Radiologic Technologist program
Knowledge of medical practice and terminology, clinic processes, and procedures
Ability to use sound reasoning and judgment and act calmly in emergencies
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and nonverbally
Knowledge of digital imaging
Knowledge of electronic health records (eCW preferred)
Compensation $30 - $40/hour
The salary/rate range listed is provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary for this role. Actual compensation may vary based on experience and location.
