Powerback is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) - Mobile Outpatient. This is a full-time position based in Haverhill, MA with a base pay range of $63.00/hr. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available. Responsibilities
The Occupational Therapist will primarily provide outpatient rehabilitation services in an in-home setting for the older adult population (patient’s private residence or in a room in an independent living facility). Evaluate and treat in the most functional environment (the patient’s home) and organize/conduct occupational therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation. Direct patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance; facilitate learning of skills essential for adaptation and productivity; diminish or correct pathology. Provide a flexible schedule and work environment across various settings. Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel in accordance with state licensure requirements and professional standards as applicable. Adhere to department and patient treatment schedules, complete clinical and billing documentation, and attend related meetings. Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and other related meetings. Refer patients to other disciplines or agencies to address comprehensive needs. Consult with rehabilitation team members and community physicians to select appropriate therapeutic regimens. Adapt plans of care based on individual patient needs and promote a safe environment by enforcing safety standards. Order supplies and equipment as necessary; maintain and report on equipment condition and repairs. Provide patient-centered service, ensuring high-quality care with compassionate, rights-respecting interaction. Screen, examine, and evaluate patients: gather history, perform systems review, select tests and measures, determine diagnoses, estimate prognosis, and plan care; develop treatment goals in collaboration with patient and caregivers; implement therapy and document services. Deliver a range of therapeutic techniques and services including cognitive skills, strength, coordination, endurance, mobility, perceptual abilities, sensory awareness, balance, activities of daily living, joint protection, work simplification, orientation, physical agent modalities, low vision, falls risk management, medication management, health and wellness, and community reintegration. Develop and apply adaptive devices or orthotics/prosthetics, as appropriate; train patients in their use. Select activities aligned with the patient’s abilities and goals; instruct patients in skills for functional activities; monitor progress and adjust plans as needed. Perform routine reexaminations to modify/progress plans of care and perform other related duties as required. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards. Initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice. Valid driver's license or reliable, independent transportation to and from patients’ residences. Benefits
