The Radiologic Technologist & Medical Support Specialist performs routine x‑ray examinations in accordance with Concentra policies and applicable regulations. This role requires efficient and accurate delivery of one‑on‑one patient care while thriving in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities Radiologic Technologist Duties

Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, escort patients to dressing and x‑ray rooms, provide verbal and written instructions and assist patients in positioning body parts to be radiographed. Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure patient care, safety and comfort during the x‑ray exam.

Operate radiologic equipment, position it and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance according to examination specifications. Take x‑rays following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety.

Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and team members.

Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order; report equipment malfunctions to Center Operations Director.

Ensure all Radiology workflows are followed and all Radiology reports cross‑correctly to EMR.

Follow documentation procedures and complete required documentation related to patient x‑ray visit.

Maintain all x‑ray equipment, including calibration, QA/QC procedures, and record keeping in accordance with current policy and procedures.

Medical Assistant Duties

Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non‑DOT drug and alcohol testing.

Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and required ancillary testing (vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiogram testing and respirator fit testing).

Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.).

Assist providers during examination and treatment.

Perform routine medical procedures as ordered by the treating clinician and triage emergent patients as needed.

Assist with procedure set‑up, injury care, bandage application, medication dispensing, and quality assurance activities on equipment.

Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock exam rooms; notify supervisor immediately if equipment is not functioning properly.

Help with patient flow and volume, keep patients informed of expected wait times during all aspects of the center visit.

Perform clerical tasks in both front and back office, ensure accurate documentation and follow HIPAA guidelines.

Attend center staff meetings or huddles as required and assist in maintaining a clean, orderly appearance throughout the facility.

Complete any applicable training, including clinical competency training that occurs monthly.

Qualifications

Education Level: High School Diploma or GED.

Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology and applicable certification by the state in which employed.

Registered with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and has active and valid certification.

CPR/First Aid Certification.

Job‑Related Experience: at least six months of medical assistant experience with knowledge of medical procedures and medical terminology. Working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements preferred with prior medical office, healthcare or customer service experience.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information (HIPAA and PHI). Clear verbal and written communication. Teamwork focus. Must participate in initial and ongoing training. Obtain all certifications required of Medical Support Specialists, including Drug Screen Collection, Breath Alcohol Certification, Hair and Oral Fluids Collection. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and entry of data into various systems/applications.
