Laboratory Technician, Environment Testing, Danvers, MA
Position: Laboratory Technician I – full‑time, entry level with benefits.
Base pay range: $20.00/hr – $22.00/hr.
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm; one weekend per month on a rotating schedule.
Location: Danvers, MA – candidates living within a commutable distance are encouraged to apply.
Job Overview The Laboratory Technician I uses general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Quality Assurance programs and SOPs. Responsibilities include general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies.
Responsibilities Sample Receiving
Prepare samples from processing.
Accept deliveries and sign for them.
Unload shipments from delivery truck.
Open coolers and inspect contents of shipments; check documentation to ensure all samples are accounted for.
Distribute samples in different departments as appropriate.
Follow strict safety and quality control procedures.
Store, restock, and shelf samples as necessary.
Keep work area clean and organized.
Enter records in the LIMS system.
Demonstrate and promote the company vision.
Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
Apply GMP/GLP where applicable.
Perform routine laboratory tasks that provide experience with methods, practices, and programs.
Retrieve samples from Sample Control for analysis.
Prepare samples using standard techniques.
Perform chemical analysis using standard techniques.
Calculate data.
Record and report data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisor.
Perform routine instrument maintenance.
Perform job functions in compliance with Eurofins environmental health, safety, and quality assurance standards.
Maintain general housekeeping in work area.
Become trained and competent on complex instrumentation (e.g., GC, GC/MS, AAS, ICP).
Work under close supervision using routine and standard methods.
Aliquot and weigh samples.
Wash glassware.
Lab Technician
Perform microbiology analysis by Idexx methods, including aseptic processing, reagent and media preparation, dilution preparation, and incubation time recording.
Resolve discrepancies and anomalies to ensure proper labeling.
Prepare laboratory paperwork (analysis results, sample tracking, bench sheets, logbooks).
Wash laboratory glassware for next day’s samples.
Stock laboratory supplies.
Conduct all activities safely and efficiently.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Cleans work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
Assist other laboratory areas as needed.
Qualifications
Strong organizational skills.
Attention to detail.
Physical strength necessary to lift and move heavy boxes.
Competence with LIMS software.
Reading, writing, and speaking skills in English.
Problem‑solving skills.
Team participation and meeting management skills.
Time‑management and organization skills.
Use of calculator/mathematical formulas and concepts.
Complete work within time and quality constraints.
Work independently following written or verbal instructions.
Cooperate and coordinate orally and in writing.
Education & Experience
High school diploma required.
High school chemistry coursework and basic laboratory experience.
Previous production‑oriented work (awareness of meeting deadlines).
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
Professional working proficiency in English (read, write, speak).
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; samples will be in coolers packed in ice.
Perform other duties as assigned.
