Burner Position The burner position involves using an Oxy-Fuel set for torching heavy metal.
Job Responsibilities
Operate safety equipment and adhere to safe work habits.
Torch cut metal parts, large metal pieces, or components into smaller sizes.
Perform torch cutting in flat, horizontal, or vertical positions.
Select and insert gas nozzles into holders and connect hoses to meet gas specifications.
Select and install torches or torch tips according to chart specifications or metal thickness.
Guide the torch at specified speeds and angles to cut or trim metal.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and relevant training.
Six months of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical ability to perform job duties, including standing, lifting up to 100 pounds, and working outdoors in extreme temperatures.
Must pass a pre-employment physical, including a Pulmonary Function Test and Lead Physical, and be able to wear PPE comfortably.
Ability to differentiate colors and have excellent field of vision.
Exposure to potential lead levels at or above the action level of 30 micrograms per cubic meter during work hours.
