Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Physician Assistant (PA) and one year of post‑graduate mental health clinical experience, or a CAQ in Psychiatry

First Level Commitment Examiner Certification preferred.

This Opportunity Monarch is searching for a PMHNP or Psychiatric Physician Assistant for a new facility opening June 2026 in Concord, NC providing services for our Behavioral Health Urgent Care. Full‑time schedule options are Monday‑Wednesday or Thursday‑Saturday, 7 am‑7 pm or 7 pm‑7 am. Part‑time schedule options are Sunday, 7 am‑7 pm or 7 pm‑7 am. The position requires onsite presence until the program is running efficiently; a hybrid model of onsite and remote may then be considered.

The Stephen M. Morris Behavioral Health Center is a 60,000+ sf, 72‑patient 24‑hour Tier 4 facility, with a pharmacy and a learning kitchen for the PRTF. The new facility will comprise 24 PRTF beds for adolescents, a FBC with 16 crisis adolescent beds, and a Behavioral Health Urgent Care offering services for both adolescents and adults.

Responsibilities

Prescribe medications and treatments under physician supervision or established policies.

Report medical information to supervising physicians to assist diagnosis and treatment.

Assess individuals for mental health disorders, make DSM diagnoses, and develop treatment plans.

Maintain documentation in an electronic health record system within 24 hours of service.

Provide education to individuals and families about diagnoses and treatment.

Collaborate with counselors, psychologists, social workers, and medical staff of local providers and community agencies.

Participate in staffing of complex or high‑risk individuals with program staff.

Attend meetings and training as required and maintain all agency and state certifications.

Demonstrate knowledge of and comply with all agency policies and procedures and state and federal regulations.

Follow service definition guidelines for services provided.

Complete all other relevant responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Driving and travel may be required.

Education Master of Science: Nursing, Nurse Practitioner (NP), Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), or Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS) (Required).

Certifications Board‑Certified Physician Assistant (PA) – National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) – American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), First Level Commitment Examiner Certification – DHHS, State License – Nurse Practitioner (NP) – State Board of Nursing, State License – Physician Assistant (PA) – State Medical Board.

Experience Post‑Graduate Mental Health Clinical Experience 0‑1 years (Dependent upon Licensure – see Job Description) (Required).

Schedule Target Weekly Hours: 36.
