This position will be located at our new FSED. Centerpoint Medical Center ER of Independence, 1545 East 23rd Street South, Independence, MO 64055. Responsibilities
Coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the department and the standards of practice for the state and specialty. Collaborates with medical providers and care team to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” Serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and supports the organization’s vision/mission/values to enhance patient experience and outcomes. Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after intervention. Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical providers and documents care in the medical record in a timely manner. Responds promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipates needs. Teaches patients/families/caregivers about medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications and follow-up measures; translates complex medical terminology for understanding. Educates on non-medicinal follow-up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and self-management planning. Qualifications
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date Registered Nurse (RN) license Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing ED RN experience strongly preferred Centerpoint Medical Center is a 285+ bed hospital offering state-of-the-art equipment and services, including Level II Trauma Center with 24/7 emergency services and an accredited Chest Pain Center.
