Medical Assistant/MA-C – SMG Hiring Pool
Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift
Location: Puget Sound area in Washington
Job Overview Join Swedish Medical Group’s (SMG)
Hire Pool Program , a direct-to-hire recruitment initiative designed to place qualified candidates into permanent clinical support roles. The program targets individuals aligned with SMG’s mission and values who are seeking long-term careers in healthcare.
Position Expectations
Participate in a
two-week clinic-based assessment
after completing onboarding and training.
Receive orientation through the
New Caregiver Orientation
program (1 week), followed by
2 weeks of on-the-job training
at a local SMG clinic.
During the assessment, function as a permanent staff member (with exceptions for disciplinary action and timekeeping oversight).
Train on clinic-specific workflows under the supervision of the clinic staff.
Receive feedback and real-time coaching from clinic staff.
At the conclusion of the assessment, potential for
formal transfer
into a permanent clinic role.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality patient care or administrative support (based on role).
Learn and adapt to clinic protocols and electronic health systems.
Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and alignment with SMG’s values.
Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and administrators.
Job Description As a Medical Assistant (MA-C), you’ll help with administrative and clinical tasks like scheduling appointments, updating information in EPIC and taking patients’ vital signs at appointments. Required Qualifications
Coursework/Training- Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants or,
Coursework/Training- Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship programor
Coursework/Training- Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forcesor,
Coursework/Training- Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
Washington Medical Assistant Certification upon hire.
National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
6 months - Healthcare experience. 6 months- Medical Assistant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
National Medical Assistant Certification upon hire.
