Job Summary And Qualifications What you will do in this role:
Shadow and observe licensed Surgical Technologists and surgeons to gain a better understanding of their roles and responsibilities.
Assist in preparing operating rooms, ensuring they are clean, sterile, and well‑stocked with the necessary equipment and supplies.
Help with the transportation of patients to and from the operating room under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional.
Observe and learn proper surgical aseptic techniques and infection control practices.
Assist with the preparation and handling of surgical instruments and supplies under the direct supervision of a licensed Surgical Technologist.
Provide basic patient care and comfort, such as answering questions, providing reassurance, and ensuring patient privacy.
Participate in educational opportunities, such as attending workshops, seminars, or training sessions, as directed by the supervising Surgical Technologist or department manager.
What qualifications you will need:
Current enrollment in an accredited surgical technology program Required
Completion of prerequisite coursework in anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and medical terminology. Required
BLS (ARC or AHA) Required
