Job Summary
The CT Technologist is expected to deliver the highest direct and indirect patient care possible. Performs CT scan examinations to provide cross-sectional images and complex data for determining medical treatment/diagnosis. Follow proper patient protocol as set by the radiologist. Performs procedures on all CT equipment including routine, specialty studies. Coordinates patient flow through the department. Assists in duties necessary to expedite service and diagnosis. Location

Pay: Commensurate on work experience, skills, and market rates + 5,000 employment signing bonus Duties And Responsibilities
Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of equipment capabilities. Adjust techniques and parameters as necessary to obtain high quality results. Demonstrates the ability to operate CT equipment. Follow departmental procedure manual to ensure that all standard scanning views are taken; refer to the requisition for any special instructions from the physician or Radiologist; always scans completely. Ensure exams are complete in RIS and properly transferred on PACS. Can order, edit and complete in RIS. Maintain sterile techniques for procedures; practice aseptic techniques and follow infection control procedures; prevent cross contamination during scanning procedures. Verify the appropriate procedure by checking the physician’s orders on the patient’s chart with the requisition and contact the physician if there are any discrepancies. Demonstrate the ability to solve job-related problems such as equipment malfunctions, alternate patient positioning, different views, and the realization of equipment and patient limitations. Regularly check equipment, accessories, and supplies; keep area stocked; clean and disinfect equipment after each patient use; clean CT scanning area daily. Maintain QC & QA equipment/log in area and maintenance of equipment preventive tasks. Perform basic nursing functions in patient care as needed; support physical and psychological needs during scanning; initiate basic life support measures if necessary; know CPR and the location and operation of life support systems in the department. Demonstrate a working knowledge of PACS, computer systems and hospital information systems. Serve as a preceptor for new employees and train personnel in the use of PACS. Follow all safety rules; report accidents promptly and correct minor safety hazards. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Education: High School diploma/GED; graduate of an AMA-approved educational program in Radiologic Technology. Experience: Minimum one (1) year as Radiologic Technologist in diagnostic radiology or hospital setting preferred. Certifications, Licenses and Registrations: ARRT certification and license by TDH; current CPR required. Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to work independently; demonstrate decision-making capability; strong interpersonal skills; good understanding of patient pathology with ability to adjust scanning protocols as required.
