In-N-Out Burger
Overview
In-N-Out Burger has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Laboratory Technician in our Chino, CA food testing laboratory. The primary focus of this facility is beef, environmental, dairy, and pourable liquid testing. This position is responsible for conducting sample analysis, results interpretation, verifying instrumentation calibration and implementing good laboratory practices.
Responsibilities
Perform qualitative (PCR), quantitative (indicator organism), and basic food chemistry testing, as well as assembling, analyzing, reviewing and reporting data utilizing a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Continue professional development in Microbiology, Food Chemistry, basic Statistics, ISO 17025 and other core technical competencies.
Prepare and maintain stock media solutions.
Utilize aseptic technique to prepare samples for enrichment.
Understand and implement GMP, GLP, FDA-BAM and USDA-MLG procedures.
Create reports using basic data tables and graphing techniques.
Ensure that all laboratory tests are conducted, entered and reported according to laboratory protocols.
Conduct routine food, environmental and/or process improvement sampling.
Contribute to special projects through root cause analysis and continuous improvement techniques.
Periodically review and audit laboratory results and reporting.
Maintain instrumentation in good working order through periodic inspections and calibrations.
Participate in check sample and other internal verification programs.
Follow laboratory quality assurance, occupational safety and sanitation programs.
Assist the Laboratory Supervisor when absent to fulfill departmental needs.
Perform all technician duties with pride and craftsmanship while fostering a culture of teamwork, cooperation, occupational safety and dedication to helping others succeed.
Work Schedule & Benefits
Full-time position, Non-Exempt Hourly.
Pay Range: $28.80-$32.00 per hour.
Lab/Warehouse location: Chino, CA.
Schedule: Thursday-Monday (days off: Tuesday, Wednesday).
Shifts can start between 5:00 am and 11:00 am; 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts.
Weekend and holiday availability required; some overtime as needed.

Qualifications
In-N-Out Burger Store or Support experience: Minimum 2 years tenure with In-N-Out Burger.
Degree in Science, Microbiology or Food Science preferred.
Some laboratory experience or internship in similar preferred.
Additional Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Animal Science, Meat Science preferred.
A minimum of 1 year of experience in a Microbiology laboratory, preferably with food-based PCR and indicator organism analyses along with basic Food Chemistry testing.
Experience within an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory.
Strong written, verbal, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
A working knowledge of GLP, GMP, FDA-BAM and USDA-MLG methodologies.
Familiarity with basic HACCP and Process Controls for Human Food principles.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
