UNIT SUMMARY: The Emergency Department at Northwest Hospital currently sees over 60,000 patients per year and has 49 beds. The Emergency Department treats major and minor illnesses, typically related to cardiac, stroke, and behavioral health. Additionally, staff may provide care for orthopedic injuries or minor trauma. Our rapid care area is designated for minor illnesses. Staff members are outgoing and positive and must utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status and effectively implement clinical nursing interventions to modify symptoms.
JOB SUMMARY: Provides safe, age-appropriate patient care, and functions as an advisor, resource, and leader for other members of the patient care team.
REQUIREMENTS:
Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field
2 or more years of experience in clinical specialty
Nursing Certification of specialty area within 3-5 years of hire
1-3 years of experience
Maryland Registered Nurse License
American Heart Association BLS Certification
