Overview The Speech Pathologist, Inpatient will provide speech therapy services to all age groups to obtain maximal outcome. PRN Compensation: USD $34.34/Hr. (minimum) to USD $53.23/Hr. (maximum). Responsibilities Therapy and instruction—Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions.

Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation.

Knowledge of curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and measurement of training effects as it pertains to clinical instruction of students.

Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences, ethnicity, cultures and their history and origins.

Knowledge of information and techniques needed to evaluate and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities; symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures.

Knowledge of customer and personal services; customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Knowledge of English language structure, meaning of words, spelling, rules of composition, and grammar.

Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology.

Knowledge of laws and government regulations as they apply to State and National standards.

Public Safety and Security — Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective security operations for protection of people, data, and property.

Proficiency with standard word processing, written and oral communications.

Basic computer skills such as word processing, data entry, and documentation.

Active listening and clear communication with physicians, consultants, Rehabilitation team members, patients and families.

Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce sensible solutions.

Ability to anticipate problems and potential outcomes.

Ability to read and understand information presented in writing.

Ability to organize actions in a logical order according to rules.

Ability to identify and understand the speech/language needs of others.

Qualifications

Education and/or Other Requirements: Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology. Licensed or license pending in the State of Illinois without previous disciplinary action in Illinois or any other state, and Certified Clinical Competence Achieved. New graduates with clinical competence accepted. Current CPR card. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
