Licensed Optician – Falls Church, VA. This role delivers the brand value proposition and helps establish the For Eyes store as the premier destination for vision needs within the community. The position focuses on providing legendary customer service and crafting high-quality eyewear that exceeds customer expectations. General Function
The Licensed Optician contributes to For Eyes’ mission by delivering outstanding customer service and eyewear solutions that align with brand standards and customer expectations. Major Duties & Responsibilities
Greets customers warmly, confirms their needs, and communicates what to expect; shows urgency in service delivery. Custom fits glasses and places prescriptions accurately in lenses. Acts as a leader in optical knowledge and supports associates. Takes and records measurements; adapts eyewear to ensure correct fit and adherence to standards. Attracts new customers and explores customer needs using open-ended questions. Pays attention to details, asks clarifying questions, reviews prescriptions, and identifies special needs. Assists co-workers with difficult product needs and complex prescriptions. Utilizes store tools and adheres to brand commitments. Performs tasks accurately under time pressure, demonstrates product knowledge, and explains features and benefits of lenses and frames. Anticipates problems, seeks long-term solutions, and collaborates with management when necessary. Manages multiple tasks, prioritizes, and respects delivery timelines. Seeks feedback and referrals; aims to achieve exceptional results on brand KPIs and competencies. Presents, educates, and manages customer pickup processes. Maintains store appearance, keeps the environment clean and organized, and protects company assets. Reports safety issues and follows safe work practices. Maintains a proactive, self-motivated attitude with a willingness to learn and improve. Adheres to company policies, including discounting, promotions, and inventory management. Performs selling activities on the sales floor for the majority of the day. Other duties may be assigned as needed (e.g., customer calls, eyewear dispensing). Maintains proper dress code, name tag, and associate tablet. Basic Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent State Licensure Optical dispensing experience Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener, and team builder Knowledge of current store merchandise Basic math skills Awareness of current fashion trends Selling skills – ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet Familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators Compensation & Benefits
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements.
