Duties
Assessment: Identify resources and deficits.
Planning: Formulate goals of care, patient priorities.
Intervention: Provide physical care, patient education, referral, and counseling to help patients reach health‑care goals.
Evaluation: Ongoing assessment of intervention effectiveness with modifications as needed.

Requirements
Registered professional nurse with GCP certification.
Experience administering and monitoring systemic cancer therapies and injectable infusions to an adult population.
Knowledge of chemotherapy and immunotherapy guidelines, hazardous drug handling, and oncology nursing core curriculum.
Demonstrated competence in education, psychosocial assessment, and clinical trial coordination.
Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
Scope Of Nursing Practice
Perform independent, interdependent, and dependent nursing actions and demonstrate personal professional accountability.
Deliver direct and indirect patient care, including basic nursing activities.
Collaborate with the health‑care team to coordinate nursing care and maintain continuity of care.
Advocate for patient freedom to choose treatment and determine the direction of their lives throughout the disease process.
Administer and monitor a variety of systemic cancer therapies and other injectable infusions.
Participate in continuing education programs and pursue professional development.
Patient Education
Address knowledge deficits and skill deficits through individual and/or group instruction.
Topics include cancer prevention and detection, disease process, chemotherapy, nutrition, community resources, and self‑care behaviors.
Assessment & Interventions
Psychosocial status: Counseling and referral.
Physiological status: Comfort, protective mechanisms, nutrition, mobility, ventilation, elimination, sexuality.
Oncology nursing interventions: Technical aspects of cancer nursing, chemotherapy competency, drug preparation, drug administration, patient monitoring, hazardous drug disposal, infusion device management, and liaison functions.
Research Activities
Infusion administration for standard of care and research chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy.
IV insertion and venous access device management.
Maintenance of continuous infusion pumps and management of treatment‑related side effects and adverse reactions.
Documentation of events in the electronic medical record.
Clinical trial coordination: Collaborate with principal investigators, sub‑investigators, and research staff to plan, initiate, and manage oncology clinical trial infusions and related lab draws.
Patient care and education: Provide comprehensive nursing care, educate patients and families, monitor and assess adverse events, and ensure timely reporting and intervention.
Data collection and documentation: Record and maintain accurate and detailed patient documentation in the EMR in accordance with study protocols and regulatory standards.
Collaboration and communication: Work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless study execution.
