Histology Tech

for our

Pathology Department . The Histology Tech, under the supervision of the section supervisor or designee, receives and processes surgical or diagnostic tissue specimens from various departments and physician offices. Responsibilities include preparing histological slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by a pathologist, identifying, preparing, cutting, staining, and preserving specimens to assist in diagnosis, maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies, monitoring quality control, maintaining accurate records, preparing for tumor board meetings, and observing safety regulations.
