Base pay range: $91,298.00/yr - $115,252.00/yr

Duties
Design and review complex heating, ventilating, refrigeration, and air conditioning projects for new and rehabilitation work.
Prepare mechanical specifications and studies for energy conservation for design projects.
Review and direct the work of consultants.
Perform a full range of supervise duties.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Some travel is required.
Operational Needs
Travel may be required (approximately 20%).
Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver’s License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle is required.
Minimum Qualifications This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS)* and applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications to be considered for this position:
A New York State Professional Engineer's license and current registration and a qualifying bachelor’s degree or higher
as listed below; OR a New York State Professional Engineer’s license and current registration plus one year of full‑time qualifying engineering experience as listed below.
Qualifying degrees:
Aerospace Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Architectural Engineering Technology, Building Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Management, Construction Engineering Management Technology, Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Nuclear Engineering, Nuclear Engineering Technology, or Engineering Science with a recognized concentration in any of the above listed engineering degrees.
Qualifying experience:
One year of full‑time experience in mechanical engineering.
OR
Current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service in a position allocated to a Grade 22 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

The Office of the General Services (OGS) supports telecommuting where it is reasonable to do so based upon the agency’s mission and operational needs. Generally, employees new to OGS Design and Construction (D&C) will be restricted from telecommuting for at least 8 calendar weeks. After the initial 8 calendar week restriction, if an employee’s duties and work performance are aligned with telecommuting they may be allowed to do so. Upon approval to telecommute, OGS D&C employees may telecommute up to 4 days per pay period.
Salary Adjustments for Positions in Erie County: Geographic pay differential added to hiring salary = $7,000.
