$91,298.00/yr - $115,252.00/yr Duties and Responsibilities
Perform professional engineering duties related to design, project budget, estimates, work plans, and contract changes. Provide project oversight in order to ensure work conforms to accepted engineering standards. Supervision of work of subordinate staff. Supervision of consultant work. Additional duties as assigned. Some travel required. Operational Needs
Travel is required (approximately 20%). Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver’s License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle is required. Minimum Qualifications
This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS)* and applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications to be considered for this position: A New York State Professional Engineer's license and current registration AND a qualifying bachelor's degree or higher as listed below; OR a New York State Professional Engineer's license and current registration AND one year of full-time qualifying engineering experience as listed below. Qualifying degrees: Architectural Engineering, Architectural Engineering Technology, Building Engineering, Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Management, Construction Engineering Management Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Power Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Engineering Technology, Environmental Design Engineering, Environmental Resources Engineering, Environmental Systems Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Hydraulics Engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Engineering Science with a recognized concentration in any of the above listed engineering degrees. Qualifying experience: One year of full-time engineering experience related to construction project supervision of the structural and architectural elements of the building. OR Current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service in a position allocated to a Grade 22 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. All hires begin at “Start Rate” unless prior state experience affords eligibility for hiring step increase as determined by OSC.
