Location Michael Foods, Inc. is located in Gaylord, Minnesota. Gaylord is located in south central Minnesota about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. Our location produces liquid egg, hardcook egg, and precooked egg products such as scrambled, patties and omelets.

Responsibilities Position Summary:

Position duties include running computerized process systems, hooking up silos, performing CIP’s of silos and equipment, blending and sanitation tasks to achieve optimum production of quality products while maintaining a safe, sterile and efficient operation.

Shift Details:

12-hour shift from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM at our expanding Gaylord 2 facility. Training may initially occur during daytime hours with a transition to the full 12-hour shift based on business needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ability and willingness to assist in other areas of the business as needed.

Operate the HTST processing system and CIP system; record time, temperature, pressure, and flow rates; detect and report system abnormalities to reduce risk to the system or product.

Understand aseptic systems, sanitation, bacterial control, and sterilization in the process and work area to meet high quality standards.

Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor maintenance repairs.

Coordinate with the packaging lead to ensure timely hookup and startup of the production line.

Clean silos, mix room, totes, pumps, UHT press; hook up CIP lines as necessary.

Monitor and troubleshoot CIP systems; verify chemical concentrations align with cleaning requirements per company and USDA standards.

Monitor chemical usage in chemical rooms; ensure drums contain chemicals and operate correctly to meet required PPM per cycle.

Prepare written reports and maintain logs, records, and other documentation per company and USDA requirements.

Have complete knowledge of the mix room and equipment; blend products using outlined procedures.

Foster open communication and a positive attitude toward work and colleagues.

Maintain regular and consistent attendance; be responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products.

Adhere to safe work practices, GMPs, sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality; report any conditions or practices that may affect safety or quality.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

Must be able to work in high and confined spaces while following safety procedures.

Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends when required.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups, customers, vendors or employees.

Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions; solve problems with several concrete variables in standardized situations; prioritize and follow directions with little/no supervision.

Ability to perform multi-functional tasks and work overtime/weekends as required.

Bi-lingual (Spanish-English) is a plus; dairy or pasteurization experience is a plus.

$19.50 to $23.50 per hour.
