Overview
Manufacturing Supervisor II – Colorado Springs, CO Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of fabrication teams including welders, plumbing, electrical technicians, and assemblers. Interpret engineering drawings (P&ID), blueprints, and technical specifications for custom-built products. Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to resolve design and production issues. Monitor and optimize workflow, material usage, and labor efficiency. Train and mentor team members on fabrication techniques, safety protocols, and quality standards. Maintain accurate production records and generate reports for management. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in line with lean manufacturing principles. Expected to be on the production floor % of the day, and have the technical skills to coach and guide team members. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Years of supervisory experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of fabrication processes including welding, cutting, forming, and machining. Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and Bill of Materials (BOMs). Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with ERP systems and production planning tools. Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control standards. Preferred Skills
Proven leadership with a track record of driving team performance, accountability, and morale. Hands-on, approachable leadership style; comfortable working alongside the team on the floor. Proficient in reading and interpreting P&IDs and complex fabrication schematics. Working knowledge of PVC gluing, conduit bending, and light electrical assembly. Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma principles in a production setting. Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing direct labor team members. Working knowledge of CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to support fabrication planning or troubleshooting. Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with planning, engineering, and quality teams. Comfortable using metrics to drive decisions and improve workflow efficiency.
