Design Automation Specialist – Inventor API / iLogic
Dant Clayton invites candidates to join an exciting and growing company in the world of sports facility design, fabrication, and construction. In this role, you will support the design department by delivering 3D fabrication‑ready part files to the in‑house manufacturing team using Autodesk Inventor, while managing a library of parametric parts in Autodesk Vault.
This position will help shape the organization through the use of 3D design technology and processes that align with company objectives. Dant Clayton seeks a candidate who can bring fresh ideas, collaborate, and improve Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) principles and design automation processes within a fast‑growing team.
Responsibilities
Create, maintain, and organize custom Autodesk Inventor parts and assemblies within Vault for fabrication teams.
Lead development of Inventor & Vault processes with automation (iLogic, PowerShell, CoolOrange, etc.), including the creation of parametric parts and assemblies.
Maintain standard processes for Inventor & Vault with internal/external design partners and other Dant Clayton stakeholders (manufacturing department).
Implement Autodesk Inventor & Vault as part of the standard design & manufacturing processes to streamline information transfer from design to manufacturing.
Integrate design data into the company ERP (INFOR CloudSuite SiteLine) for reporting.
Attend and participate in cross‑functional team meetings; collaborate on vision and execution of company initiatives to improve design processes.
Develop comprehensive knowledge of Dant Clayton products, identify opportunities for improvement (value engineering), and make constructive suggestions for change.
Communicate processes, automation, and logic to downstream designers to ensure clear understanding of design and drafting processes.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree or higher with an educational background in manufacturing, construction, architecture, or engineering.
Certificate in Computer Aided Drafting and Design (preferred) and/or relevant experience.
Proven experience in design automation and workflows for manufacturing parametric assemblies and parts.
General understanding of manufacturing/design practices and principles; familiarity with structural framing requirements.
Demonstrated ability to manage/coordinate software implementation (Inventor or similar) for design and manufacturing processes.
Self‑starter who is focused, articulate, well‑organized, and detail‑oriented.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with a sense of urgency. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor, Vault, and CAD; familiarity with other 3D software, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office products.
Passion for technological advancement and personal growth.
Salary position based on a 40‑hour work week; overtime may be required to meet project needs.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to twenty‑five pounds at times.
