Our Client is seeking

Material Handling Product Development Engineers

to help define, design, and deliver the

next generation of material handling equipment . You will play a critical role in developing mechanical, electrical, and control solutions—working both independently and in collaboration with third-party OEM partners. This role requires a balance of deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to translate business and operational needs into robust, scalable engineering solutions. You will work at the intersection of R&D, product development, and operations,

challenging the status quo of traditional conveyance, sortation, and robotics solutions. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and validate hardware solutions for next-generation material handling systems . Translate ambiguous business problems into clear technical requirements and engineering solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional partners (operations, procurement, global engineering, and launch teams) to ensure successful product delivery. Lead the design-for-manufacturing, assembly, installation, and maintenance processes to ensure long-term scalability. Evaluate and integrate OEM hardware solutions; identify gaps and lead in-house design where required. Build prototypes, conduct testing, and analyze results

to validate performance, safety, and reliability. Author technical specifications, design documents, and test plans. Champion data-driven decision making, ensuring technical trade-offs are well-documented and communicated. Manage risk through proactive identification and mitigation strategies. Stay current with emerging technologies in automation, robotics, and industrial equipment . Required Qualifications: BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls Engineering (or related field) 8+ years in hardware product development, R&D, or systems engineering in the material handling industry Demonstrated ability to design, prototype, and validate complex hardware systems Strong understanding of distribution center operations Experience working with OEM vendors and external partners. Strong documentation and technical communication skills. Ability to thrive amid ambiguity, define clear goals, and execute with minimal oversight Preferred Qualifications: MS in Engineering or Business Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent technical documentation skills Strong attention to detail and safety awareness Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to make data-driven decisions and trade-offs Proactive risk mitigation and issue resolution Strategic thinking and long-term planning Act as a technical leader and mentor for junior engineers Foster a culture of innovation, inclusivity, and continuous improvement. Contribute to long-term product and technology strategies. Influence design decisions across multiple projects and teams Lead through teaching and empowering others Base compensation is DOE $140-$170k, Total compensation package is $200k+.
