Overview
Role Snapshot Lead structural engineering for complex, heavy-industrial projects. Own project delivery, mentor teams, elevate quality and efficiency, and serve as Engineer of Record where required. You’ll guide design standards, resource planning, proposals, and client communication while producing high-caliber structural deliverables. Responsibilities
Lead & Manage:
Act as Lead Structural on multi-discipline projects; independently manage structural-centric programs. Direct engineers/designers; run meetings and issue minutes. Plan & Forecast:
Participate in staffing forecasts; align workload, priorities, budgets, and schedules. Deliver Excellence:
Define scope; develop/oversee construction documents; check calcs/drawings for code compliance and quality. Be the EOR:
Perform Engineer-of-Record duties, including oversight, direction, and document reviews. Design & Analyze:
Steel, concrete, and masonry systems (framing, foundations, retaining structures). Specialized industrial elements: vibrating equipment foundations/supports, large retaining walls at dump hoppers, hoppers/bins/silos (steel), modifications to concrete silos, large process ductwork. Site civil (paving, grading, drainage). Build advanced analysis models (STAAD, RISA, etc.); perform finite element analysis as needed. Code Mastery:
Apply IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, AWS throughout design. Tools & Standards:
Utilize Revit and AutoCAD; develop calculation templates and uphold/advance design standards. Client & BD Support:
Support proposals, estimates, sales/marketing input; coordinate with internal/external stakeholders. Field Work:
Conduct structural condition assessments, failure investigations, reliability programs, data gathering, and terrestrial laser scanning; issue reports. Qualifications
B.S. in Engineering (Structural or Civil). 10+ years
structural engineering experience with
heavy industrial
projects. P.E. required ;
S.E. strongly preferred . Proven leadership of project teams and multi-project multitasking under evolving scopes/timelines. Deep knowledge of IBC/ASCE/AISC/ACI/AWS and proficiency in STAAD/RISA (or similar), Revit, and AutoCAD. Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills. Nice to Have
Experience with quantity estimating and contractor proposal evaluations. Familiarity with equipment practices and interdisciplinary coordination. Benefits & Growth
