Petroleum Inspector – Travel To Client Sites

What You’ll Do
Understand and adhere to Caleb Brett’s safety procedures.
Perform volume measurement, temperature measurement and sampling of commodity materials contained or conveyed in lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks, barges and ships.
Conduct visual inspections on lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges and ships.
Complete custody transfer surveys of commodities transferred to and from rail cars, tank trucks, shore tanks, barges and ships.
Perform routine equipment calibrations, verification and function checks.
Verify and communicate the results obtained and enter the entries into the appropriate media, whether print or electronic, to ensure the validity and traceability of the information.
Provide on‑the‑job assistance and receive training from more experienced inspectors.
Communicate and coordinate with terminal, transport and company personnel to promote smooth exercise of duties assigned.
Monitor the availability of the supplies needed for the above processes, and notify the dispatcher or coordinator of any requirements.
Organize and coordinate jobs so that services are rendered, and reports and samples are submitted in a timely manner.
Maintain work areas, records and equipment in a clean, organized, and functional condition.
Willingness to go offshore via boat launch and ability to climb pilot ladder to inspect vessels.
Shift/Schedule Varying shifts, including nights, weekends and on‑call hours.
Salary & Benefits Information The base wage range for this position is $18‑$20 per hour. Individual compensation packages are based on skill set, experience, qualifications and other job‑related reasons.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
Basic grasp of mathematics and ability to work in an automated environment.
Able to work on an on‑call basis.
Neutral regarding heights and able to climb ladders and stairs for shore tanks.
Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record (required).
Must have or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
Physical requirements include lifting, walking, standing, reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, squatting and driving.
General knowledge of computers.
Good written and oral communication skills and team player.
Ability to travel as business needs dictate.
Good understanding and knowledge of refinery operations relating to inspection activities.
Ilfia certification is a plus; if not certified, must pass the exam to obtain certification within six months of employment.
Must be detail‑oriented and effectively prioritize and organize workload with efficient time management.
Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal, written and presentation skills.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines.
