We are seeking a design engineer to join the Electrical Section in Kansas City. This role provides opportunities to design electrical systems for highway, municipal, bridge, transit, and airport projects. The position supports delivering solutions for infrastructure projects and collaborates with project teams to execute designs. Responsibilities
Completes assigned work within the schedule and hours provided. Participates in preparation or modification of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations. Develops project quantities and assists with cost estimates. Assists engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files. Self-sufficiently completes tasks including research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in Engineering and 1 year of relevant experience Exhibits proficiency in applying engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and MicroStation and/or AutoCad or other required software Electrical engineering design experience for Civil Transportation projects Designs low voltage power distribution systems, street lighting, traffic signals, area lighting, pedestrian lighting, aesthetic lighting, and other electrical systems Designs power distribution and control systems for Movable Bridges Ability to work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects Preparation of electrical engineering designs responsive to project needs Engineer in Training (EIT) certification Knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Experience with Roadway and Highway Lighting Experience with AGI32 Lighting Software Experience with completing Plans, Specifications and Estimates for Municipal and DOT clients Additional Information
