Overview Quality Engineer - 1st Shift role at AW Technical Center USA.

Responsibilities

Coordinates new product development activities, and conducts project review meetings with appropriate suppliers

Provides technical leadership and direction to design engineering through the development of robust technical solutions from concept to production, and helps develop product strategy for standardization

Works with Design Engineering (US/Japan) in developing documentation including but not limited to DFMEA, DVP&R, drawings and design assumptions

Support PSW and Prototype builds

Write test reports to include conclusions and recommendations at plant level

Establish production feasibility of designs working with vendors, engineers, and plant colleagues

Participate with CFT in VA/VE & DFM/DFA workshops and implement recommendations

Ensure accuracy of documentation including but not limited to Mfg process quality documentation post SOP

Direct and develop production tooling line-ups and arrange for design builds, on time delivery of tools, check and assembly fixtures utilizing solid engineering discipline and AMI Guidelines

Ensure compliance with Engineering Change procedures and approves prints on new releases or changes to parts for acceptable manufacturing feasibility and realistic tolerance

Assure company and customer policies are followed, and departmental compliance with QS 9000 and ISO14001 standards

Provides to Knowledge Management and Lesson Learned systems

Audit processes, reports non-conformance to Engineering Manager or designee

Assist Packaging Engineer in the development of end item packaging designs with customer's specifications

Assist Mfg Engineering in the development of equipment ensure process tolerance + drawing tolerance still meets final assembly drawing requirements

On all new launch components ensure 100% drawing confirmation of all supplied parts and all final assembly parts

Responsible for all APQP document submissions to the customer. (Customer respective forms and timing)

Responsible for Mass production Quality pertaining to accuracy of component + process producing a product to print and or inspection std.

Ensures all Customer requirements are satisfied pertaining to Quality of the product

Responsible for Supplier development activity when necessary

Responsible for following All AMI SORs and SOPs

Skills and Abilities Required

Knowledge of GD&T and ANSI standards

Knowledge of modern manufacturing methods, tools, and techniques

Computer literate in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project

Ability to work in a team-oriented environment

Knowledgeable of Control Plans, DOE, GD&T, PFMEA, DFMEA, DVP&R and ECM

Excellent verbal, technical writing, interpersonal and organizational skills required

Minimum Level of Preparation and Training

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field

Minimum 5 years Quality Engineering experience in automotive industry.

Salary Range:

$76,250 - $88,500
