Portland, OR , to provide service, troubleshooting, and repair for single- and three-phase UPS and related peripherals. Deliver expert technical support, resolve system issues to board level, and ensure reliable, responsive service for customers. Responsibilities
Deliver On-Site Service: start-up, preventive and remedial maintenance, field modifications, and testing of power quality products at customer sites. Be the Technical Expert: provide support to internal teams, third-party providers, and end users. Inspect & Document: test and evaluate failed products, components, and systems before factory return, documenting status and findings. Stay Ready for Emergencies: schedule and provide on-call technical support and field service to keep customers online. Collaborate Across Departments: work with other MEPPI teams to identify solutions that improve system performance and protection. Advance Projects: participate in daily project meetings as required, ensuring service input and support. Troubleshoot & Repair: identify and repair routine UPS failures; escalate complex issues when necessary. Support Long-Term Reliability: recommend service offerings such as battery upgrades to optimize customer investments. Solve Complex Failures: troubleshoot UPS malfunctions down to board level with minimal supervision. Maintain Accuracy: keep detailed service records and prepare reports analyzing inspections, repairs, and issues. Mentor Others: guide less experienced technicians in troubleshooting and repairs. Operate with Integrity: submit accurate, timely expense reports in compliance with company policies. Qualifications
Education & Experience: Associate’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or related technical field, plus 4+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical/electronic products—or equivalent combination. UPS Expertise: intermediate knowledge of UPS systems and peripherals, including data center electrical equipment. Technical Proficiency: advanced knowledge of mechanical and electronic test equipment, including operation, data collection, and reporting. Networking Skills: basic understanding of communication and networking protocols. Certifications: OSHA-10 Construction and NFPA-70E certifications required. Problem-Solving Ability: advanced analytical skills with strong attention to detail. Communication Skills: strong interpersonal and presentation skills for effective collaboration with customers, suppliers, and colleagues. Technical Knowledge: ability to read and interpret detailed schematics and facility one-line diagrams. Computer Skills: advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and MRP/ERP systems.
