What You’ll Do
Knowledge and experience with AWS D1.1 and or ASME codes
Interpret codes and specifications in accordance with the drawing requirements
Use a computer to compile and submit data of acceptance or rejection of inspections
Recommend and approve repairs as well as perform visual inspection of work in progress and completed work
Knowledge with the process Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
Experience with maintaining WPSs and PQRs
Knowledge of programming and operating automated welding systems
Verify and document welder qualifications
Verify the compliance of base metals with the applicable specifications
Appraise welding joint designs and joint preparations for compliance with drawing
Verify proper fit, cleanliness, and environmental conditions
Verify the conformity of the welds
Verify preheat and inter-pass temperatures
Assure the proper control and handling of welding consumables
Verify the inter-pass and final cleaning
Assure product conformity to drawings and specifications
Verify cleanliness and weld surface quality
Have knowledge of other NDT Processes
Ability to support the training of welders
Confirm adequate documentation of fabrication and inspection activities
Assist in the training and development of other teammates
Interpret, evaluate, communicate, and report findings to production, engineering, and management teams
Additional Expectations
Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.
What You’ll Bring
High school diploma or GED
Previous fitting and welding experience is required
5-10 years experience with the process Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
Must be able to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings
Must be able to perform basic math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry and some trigonometry
Current American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
