Automation Engineer

Actalent . We’re looking for a skilled Automation Engineer to support and enhance our site’s industrial control systems—including BMS, PMS, EMS, PCS, and RLAN IT/OT architecture. This role is essential to maintaining and evolving our automation infrastructure in compliance with GMP and non-GMP standards. Responsibilities
Design, install, and maintain automation systems (BAS, DCS, utility PLCs) aligned with Zoetis standards. Manage lifecycle and change control processes for all site automation systems. Troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems in collaboration with maintenance teams. Develop and deliver training programs to upskill team members on automation technologies. Coordinate with vendors and consultants to ensure technical specifications and project delivery meet expectations. Stay current with automation technologies and standards, applying innovations to improve operations. Collaborate across teams to integrate local and corporate standards. Provide technical support during regulatory audits to ensure compliance. Lead and support the implementation of automation infrastructure from concept to completion. Participate in Factory and Site Acceptance Testing for automation systems. Required Skills
Automation engineering, PLC programming (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell), SCADA, GMP compliance Experience with BMS, PMS, EMS, PCS systems Familiarity with ISA-88, ISA-95, GAMP, FDA regulations, and cGMP standards Understanding of IQ/OQ/PQ validation processes Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Basic knowledge of IT/OT integration and digital automation frameworks Excellent communication and collaboration skills Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Automation Engineering (advanced degrees a plus) 1–3 years of experience in automation system development within a GMP-regulated environment Experience Level

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
