Are you passionate about highway bridges and their structure and design? HDR is looking for a Bridge Engineer to join our nationally ranked team in Ann Arbor or East Lansing, MI. This role involves applying structural design, analysis, and detailing techniques to support the design and development of bid plans for bridges and other structures. Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques to design and develop bid plans for bridges and related structures (e.g., highway bridges such as steel plate girder, prestressed concrete, retaining walls, box culverts, and associated structures). Perform standard bridge engineering/design procedures and develop structural details using specialized software (Microstation, MathCAD, LARSA, and other design/analysis programs). Conduct bridge inspection and perform structural load rating calculations; assist with geometric layout and bridge type studies. Provide some CADD plan production as needed and may be assigned to larger bridge projects nationally, including mega alternate delivery projects. Develop and review structural calculations, estimates, and specifications; may supervise junior staff and EITs. Contribute to project teams and collaborate with colleagues on highway and railway bridge/interchange design. Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Structural Engineering A minimum of 3 years of experience in bridge design Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree Previous experience in bridge design Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license or license recognized by the local licensing board Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and engineering software such as LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, Midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge Knowledge of ADINA, LUSAS, Bentley OpenBridge Designer/OpenBridge Modeler and/or Autodesk InfraWorks and Civil 3D Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation, AutoCAD, MathCAD, LARSA, and Prestress Concrete Design Experience using structural analysis programs and bridge design software Experience managing junior staff Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment Active participation in our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe
