Then HDR is looking for a Senior Bridge Engineer who is passionate about the structure and design of highway bridge to join our Nationally ranked team of professionals in Ann Arbor or East Lansing, MI. The primary responsibilities of the Senior Bridge Engineer include: Plan, direct, and deliver projects that include bridge design, bridge rehabilitation, bridge inspection and structures design on DOT and local agency projects. This position may include being responsible for the delivery and coordination of several projects concurrently. Work with other managers to coordinate the staffing and workload through the entire project development to complete the project on schedule Establish client relations and participate with marketing, contractual, and production activities to establish and strengthen future and existing business lines. Work with the Business/Accounting Manager, Project Controller, Company Controller and the Area Manager or Managing Principal for project reviews. This position may be assigned to serve on larger bridge projects nationally and may include mega alternate delivery projects. In the role of Senior Bridge Engineer, we'll count on you to: Serve in a lead technical role on bridge design projects Perform complex structural planning, analysis and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects Work on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable) box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects Serve as a technical specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects, and supervise more junior engineers in the performance of engineering tasks Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Structural Engineering SE Familiarity with engineering software packages such as: LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, LUSAS, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge Required Qualifications A minimum of 10 years bridge design experience Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license. Proven hands-on experience in all aspects of bridge design projects Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and engineering software packages such as: LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge. Knowledge of ADINA, LUSAS, Bentley OpenBridge Designer and OpenBridge Modeler and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation, AutoCAD, MathCAD, LARSA, Prestress Concrete Design Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills and ability to work with various teams Strong communication skills and willing to work in a team environment Must be comfortable being viewed as a technical expert in engineering analysis and design and have proven background of technical leadership on these types of projects An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company.
