Sr. Technical Program Manager, AWS MOEDS Base pay range: $133,900.00/yr - $231,400.00/yr

This role focuses on program management for AWS service delivery, supporting MOEDS initiatives across regions and collaborating with service teams to deliver new tools and features for developers.

Description We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join AWS to manage new services and features being deployed in multiple regions. In this role, your primary responsibility will be supporting AWS service teams as a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) delivering services and features.

The MOEDS organization aims to reduce operational load and toil through engineering, development, and science projects. MOEDS seeks to build an engineering and operations team that will own day-to-day operations for AWS Regions, improving availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency.

You will work with AWS leadership and Service Teams to deliver solutions that improve cloud operations for AWS customers, advocate for customer needs, and collaborate to develop schedules ensuring timely launches while identifying dependencies across regions. You will assess risks, anticipate issues, and balance business needs and constraints. You will represent program status to AWS Senior Leadership and influence decision-making to drive secure and scalable solutions. Your passion for delivering customer experiences and developing new delivery methodologies is essential.

This role is based in Arlington, VA (HQ2) and sits in our new headquarters in Northern Virginia where Amazon will invest in the region (note: candidate must be a US citizen).

Key job responsibilities

Be a mission-critical member of the leadership team, unify distributed engineering efforts, and own the plan to deliver high-profile new tools and features for developers that build AWS

Lead strategic initiatives across many AWS teams to provide developers with high-impact improvements

Apply knowledge of software development to uphold a high standard of excellence for the developer experience

Drive technical requirements, design, and delivery planning across engineering teams to ensure successful launch of initiatives

Enable transparency and decision-making across AWS senior leadership by providing clear status of initiatives

Apply problem-solving skills and creativity to add value and diverse thought to the team

About AWS / Team Context AWS Operations Center provides an end-to-end system for AWS operations, with data science and data engineering teams supporting operational insights to inform investment decisions and reduce operational toil. The team develops centralized operational models and data-driven findings to support AWS builders.

Basic Qualifications

7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams

5+ years of technical program management experience with software engineering teams

3+ years of software development experience

Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

8+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management

6+ years of technical program management with software engineering teams

Experience defining KPIs/SLAs used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year to $231,400/year. Pay is based on location, knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Equity, sign-on, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total package.
