Role Context The Manufacturing Engineer will coordinate manufacturing processes by developing, evaluating and improving manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. Your Impact These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned. Under close supervision, perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh Corporation’s engineering standards and processes. Support more senior engineers in the preparation of plants, designs, computation methods, and reporting. Responsible for a project or part of a project of limited complexity; may be responsible for managing multiple projects. Provide technical assistance for prototype, pilot, or production build. Analyze space requirements, workflow and designs layout for equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Review and process engineering information through change notices, change proposals, continuous improvement requests etc. Participate in cost studies, project time estimation, and technical proposals. Review legislative and regulatory proposals or actions to determine impact on projects. Review and recommend fixture and tooling design. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering or related field. One (1) – two (2) or more years of experience. Standout Qualifications Knowledge of equipment manufacturing industry or automobile industry. Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma tools. Experience in Microsoft Office Suite; including a strong emphasis on Excel. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Read, analyze and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Prepare and/or present written communications that pertain to controversial and complex topics. Decision-Making: Regularly makes decisions involving how a project or operation will be conducted (i.e. sequence or method), and generally from an available set of alternatives or precedents. Complexity, Judgment and Problem Solving: Structured work, following a limited variety of standard practices. Working Conditions Physical Demands: Frequent standing, walking, sitting, hearing, talking, visual tasks, typing, fine and manual dexterity; occasional reaching, climbing, driving, bending/kneeling, lifting or carrying up to 30 lbs, pushing/pulling up to 30 lbs. Non-Physical Demands: Frequent analysis/reasoning, communication/interpretation, math/mental computation, reading, sustained mental activity; occasional writing. Environmental Demands: Frequent task changes and meticulous work; occasional work alone, high volume public contact, dust, temperature extremes, loud noises, physical danger, exposure to toxic substances. Work Schedule: Routine shift hours with infrequent overtime, weekend, or shift rotation. Demands/Deadlines: High volume and variable work demands and deadlines; may involve stress or contact with distressed individuals. Pay Range $72,200.00 - $116,200.00 The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
