We’re looking for a LIMS Test Automation Engineer (SDET) who is passionate about writing clean, efficient code and building robust, automated testing solutions. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in Agile environments, values continuous integration, and sees testing as an integral part of development—not an afterthought. You’ll play a key role in transforming our legacy LIMS software through the implementation of modern test frameworks, automation practices, and integration testing. You’ll be embedded in a cross-functional Agile team, working closely with developers, product owners, LIMS specialists, and business analysts to ensure our software meets the highest standards of reliability, compliance, and performance. Required Skills
3+ years of experience in software testing, specifically test automation Hands-on experience with LIMS platforms is required (e.g., LabWare, STARLIMS, Thermo Fisher) Proven experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Postman, JUnit, or similar Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps Strong SQL skills for validating data within LIMS databases Experience in regulated industries (e.g., pharma, biotech, materials testing) with understanding of lab data integrity requirements Familiarity with lab processes such as sample lifecycle management, instrument calibration, and results reporting Solid understanding of legacy system architectures and challenges in modernizing them Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Responsibilities
Design and implement automated test frameworks for legacy and new LIMS systems, ensuring scalability and maintainability Develop and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, TestComplete) Convert manual test cases into automated scripts wherever possible Perform functional, regression, and system integration testing across LIMS workflows and connected systems (ERP, lab instruments, reporting tools) Collaborate with LIMS specialists to validate workflows, data integrity, and compliance requirements Validate compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., 21 CFR Part 11, GxP, ISO standards) Develop and maintain test documentation that meets audit and regulatory requirements Troubleshoot and debug test failures, working with developers to resolve issues quickly Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and contribute to continuous improvement Track and report test coverage, defects, and quality metrics to stakeholders Seniority level
