The Manufacturing Program Chief Engineer is responsible for End-to-End Manufacturing Engineering Leadership of a Vehicle Line at Ford Motor Company. The role leads a multi-functional team (Stamping, Body, Paint, Final Assembly) from Architecture Development through Launch at the Assembly Plant Location(s). Early in the Product Development phases, the position implements Manufacturing requirements into the Architecture selection process that enable Design for Manufacturing. Virtual Manufacturing tools are then used to deliver Product/Process compatibility and early validation of robust and efficient designs of Product, Tooling and Facilities. At physical build stage, the role leads the Manufacturing Engineering team during prototype builds at our Pilot Facility and then transitions to Launch at the Production Assembly Plant(s). The Manufacturing Program Chief Engineer is responsible for delivering all Manufacturing Engineering requirements on-time, while meeting Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience

10+ Years of Manufacturing Engineering Leadership Experience

Preferred Qualifications

Strong Project Management skills and result-oriented mindset

Proven ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams

Experience leading Project from Concept to Manufacturing

Deep understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles

Ability to set long term goals and implement Manufacturing Strategies

Experience in Cost Control and Resource allocation to maximize efficiency

Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes and implement corrective actions

Experience leveraging Virtual Manufacturing tools

Strong communication skills

Implementation of Failure Mode Avoidance principles and Quality Improvement actions

Drive Manufacturing Requirements into Vehicle Architecture Development Process

Analyze Manufacturing Key Process Indicators (KPI’s) and implement corrective actions to deliver Business Objectives

Develop and Execute Strategies for improving Manufacturing Productivity and Quality

Drive adoption of New Technologies and Advanced Manufacturing methods

Utilize Manufacturing Knowledge to Identify potential risks and implement preventive measures

Provide Team Leadership in addressing Technical Challenges

Collaborate with cross-functional activities (Product Development, Purchasing, Marketing, Studio and Assembly Plant) to ensure Quality of Manufacturability and Cost-Effective Production Methods

Implement Virtual Manufacturing Tool Set

Meet Program Financial Targets for Facility, Tooling and Labor

Lead all phases of New Model Product Launch at Assembly Plant(s) including Tooling and Facility Installations
