Amazon is seeking an Automation Operations Engineer to support the Amazon Logistics North America (AMZL NA) Core Operations Engineering team. This individual will be responsible for designing and managing the next generation of delivery station processes, equipment, and operations. The role involves leading initiatives and complex cross-functional projects or programs in ambiguous and complex problem spaces. Responsibilities
Integrate systems for safety, security, stability, and efficiency Participate in the full system development life-cycle, including test plan execution and solution quality assessment Manage multiple high-visibility projects and tasks; influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal and external partners to deliver high-quality, cost-effective automation solutions aligned with business objectives Define project scope, objectives, delivery, and budget; analyze data; drive improvements to metrics; influence resource allocation Develop deep technical solutions encompassing advanced technology applications, conveyor hardware, automation integration, and vendor commissioning expectations Lead and coordinate design and execution between internal teams and external vendors, including equipment specifications, material flow, process design, and site layout Lead and participate in design reviews and communicate future impacts of proposed solutions on individual systems and overall facility processes Build relationships with partner organizations within the company (e.g., Start-up, Design team, Procurement, Tech, Safety, Change Management, RME, Operations) Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to support operations teams Develop cross-functional knowledge of Operations and Engineering systems, processes, procedures, and tools Travel approximately 75% of the time Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, MS Project) 3+ years of experience as an industrial, operations, or manufacturing engineer or project engineer in a manufacturing environment Preferred Qualifications
