Overview
Electronic circuit designer of digital and analog control systems for power tools. Engineer will be responsible for design and verification of both hardware and firmware for control systems circuitry in various power tool applications with a focus on battery management systems (BMS). No prior BMS experience is required but would be a major benefit. Responsibilities
Development of circuit schematics and PCB layouts including component selection and generation of BOMs and firmware architecture and development. Design and verification of hardware and firmware for control systems circuitry in various power tool applications with a focus on battery management systems (BMS). Creation of production testing documents, creation and execution of verification testing, and other formal steps necessary before production. Qualifications
Minimum BS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree Internship and/or Co-Op experience Knowledge in C programming language, some experience with microcontroller programming Comfortable setting up and performing tests on hardware with common test and measurement equipment -- oscilloscopes, multimeter, power supplies, etc. Able to explain technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences in email, via PowerPoint, and in meetings Able to travel to Asia as necessary: Typically 0%, Up to 5% Preferred
Embedded Battery management system (BMS) experience – Li-Ion Experience with power electronics design and testing in other applications - motor control, AC/DC, DC/DC conversion Experience with SPICE modeling software such as LTSpice, Multism Proficiency with Printed Circuit Board layout and development tools – Altium in particular Experience with firmware design and architecture, working on a large software project collaboratively with other team members Experience and desire to work on power tool products Location
