Job Description The Sales Engineer Analyst role is a key position within Visa Acceptance Solutions (CyberSource) – North America. This role blends sales acumen with technical expertise, supporting the Direct to Merchant Sales organization through technical discovery calls, proof of value demonstrations, architecture design, and pre‑sales support in a merchant‑facing environment.

Work Environment This hybrid position requires on‑site presence 3 days per week (subject to change) and light to moderate travel up to 35% for sales meetings, conferences, merchant events, and internal training.

Responsibilities

Maintain expert knowledge of Visa Acceptance Solutions, CyberSource, and Authorize.net, collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Contribute to the architecture of merchants' payment ecosystems, positioning VAS solutions to address both business and technical requirements.

Collaborate with the Direct Sales team to acquire new merchants and drive upsell/cross‑sell opportunities with existing merchants.

Articulate and demonstrate how VAS solutions integrate within the merchant ecosystem to meet customer needs and requirements.

Provide ongoing technical expertise and guidance throughout the sales cycle to drive opportunities to closure.

Support existing VAS merchants as their needs and solutions evolve.

Participate in internal knowledge transfer calls, client‑facing discovery calls, and meetings while documenting detailed notes of all sessions.

Personalize client‑facing presentations, create architectural diagrams, conduct proof of value demonstrations, and create technical validation documents.

Demonstrate comfort with storytelling and value‑based selling approaches.

Leverage AI and NLP technologies to create proof of value technical demonstrations.

Execute REST APIs in Postman and demonstrate webhook events via listeners.

Maintain detailed logs of presentations, documents, activities, notes, emails, and calls in Microsoft Dynamics CRM and SharePoint in real‑time.

Engage with Solution Management, Product Management, Technical Account Managers, Customer Support, Implementation Services, and Product Marketing to relay market feedback and provide input into solution design.

Remain responsive and easily reachable via all communication channels during business hours.

Contribute to the completion of multiple RFI/RFP requests monthly as necessary.

Proactively identify opportunities to innovate and improve sales engineering processes using AI and emerging technologies.

Collaborate with team members to share knowledge, best practices, and continuously elevate team performance.

Qualifications Basic Qualifications:

2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree (or advanced degree such as Masters, MBA, JD, MD, PhD).

Preferred Qualifications:

3+ years of technical pre‑sales experience within the payments industry.

Confident speaker who can present, interact, and connect with executives, engineers, and technical contacts.

Strong ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely.

Proven skill in architecting technical solutions in response to merchants’ requirements.

Self‑driven, motivated, and eager to learn new technologies.

Highly organized with exceptional note‑taking and CRM maintenance skills.

Strong desire to continuously improve industry knowledge.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Technical background with a BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.

Ability to travel up to 35%.

Positive attitude, curiosity, and passion for problem‑solving.

Growth mindset and commitment to lifelong learning.

Prior experience working directly with merchants.

Prior CyberSource and/or payments background preferred.

Experience using AI tools to enhance productivity and innovation.

Travel Requirements Up to 35% travel required.

Salary Range Estimated annual range: $121,300.00 – $171,350.00 (base pay plus potential incentive). Additional equity and bonus may apply.
