Amazon is searching for an innovative and solutions-oriented Technical Infrastructure Program Manager who is able to collaborate effectively with internal and external technical teams and be responsible for the design, development and deployment of our material handling systems across multiple building types. The role focuses on Technical Infrastructure Program Management of integrating complex and systemic technical products and solutions which enable your customer base to work more efficiently.

Responsibilities Include

Manage multiple large, highly complex programs through the development and deployment lifecycle.

Deeply understand the business and technical requirements of product integration from mechanical, electrical, and controls functions.

Fluency in systems level architecture, critique and debate tech design, judge technical viability of the product/solution, and tailor communication for tech and non-tech stakeholders.

Work with Operations, Engineering, and Data Science Leadership teams to manage the organization’s strategy and project priority to focus resources on the most impactful projects.

Define program/project scope and technical/business requirements, and relay them to design, firm, and field engineering teams concisely for efficient knowledge transfer.

Evaluate solutions and make decisions balancing business value and technology risk.

Assist customers and engineering teams in making appropriate trade-offs by considering the larger business goals, throughput, quality, efficiency, maintainability, and operability.

Identify standards and drive consistent application of engineering changes across North America.

Build strong working relationships with Fulfillment Center leadership and operations teams across multiple sites with Industrial Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, and Process Engineering stakeholders.

Communicate and present program status to Directors of Engineering and Operations.

Data mine and transform raw thoughts into clear technical documentation.

Travel up to 50% to interact with internal and external business and technical leaders.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 10+ years of experience in design, specification, project management and execution of large-scale complex material handling systems, or domain expertise in one of the following disciplines: industrial, mechanical, electrical, chemical or civil engineering; industrial or construction management

5+ years managing core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting and metric development/tracking

Strong understanding of material handling equipment and systems integration

Experience in manufacturing/operations/supply chain analysis, and process improvement (e.g., Lean Six Sigma)

Proven track record of delivering complex technical projects on time and on budget

Excellence in stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership

Excellent written and oral communication skills, problem-solving skills, and organizational skills

Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, matrix environment

Demonstrated ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes

Willingness to travel up to 50%, US

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in Engineering or related technical field

Experience with material handling equipment integration and systems

Experience with conveyor control systems and automation

Experience with cross-belt sorters and complex material handling systems

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Six Sigma certification

Experience working with material handling OEMs and integration partners

Track record of establishing standardized processes and playbooks

Experience scaling technical project delivery organizations
