Amazon is searching for an innovative and solutions-oriented Technical Infrastructure Program Manager who collaborates effectively with internal and external technical teams and is responsible for the design, development and deployment of material handling systems across multiple building types. The role focuses on the Technical Infrastructure Program Management of integrating complex and systemic technical products and solutions to enable customers to work more efficiently. In this role you will work with internal customers across multiple organizations to define highly ambiguous problem statements, influence a global Amazon team, write technical specifications and perform technical evaluations on equipment, develop business requirements, identify, develop, and scale new technologies across multiple teams, generate multiyear budgets, and manage multiple large, high-visibility programs through the project lifecycle. This role requires up to 50% travel and availability to work from a corporate office when not traveling. Relocation assistance may be provided for candidates who need to relocate. Key responsibilities

Drive the technical strategy for a material handling equipment lifecycle organization in partnership with WWDE, Operations Engineering, and strategic suppliers. Provide program leadership and technological integration across multiple teams of engineers. Serve as the single-threaded leader between multiple engineering teams, operations, and RME partners. Lead cross-functional communications and strategic planning for material technology deployment, introduce new tech products, determine KPIs, and drive standardization initiatives. Build mechanisms and processes to increase velocity while maintaining quality. Develop relationships with Amazon Engineering and operations teams and influence senior leaders. Lead program management for multiple large, complex programs through the development and deployment lifecycle. Understand the business and technical requirements of product integration from mechanical, electrical, and controls functions. Possess fluency in systems-level architecture and communicate effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Data Science Leadership to manage strategy and project priority, ensuring resources focus on the most impactful projects. Define program scope, technical/business requirements, and convey them to design, firm, and field engineering teams for efficient knowledge transfer. Evaluate solutions, balance business value and technology risk, and support customers and engineering teams in making appropriate trade-offs across the larger business goals (throughput, quality, efficiency, maintainability, operability). Identify standards and drive the consistent application of engineering changes across North America. Build relationships with FC leadership and operations teams at multiple sites. Present program status to Directors of Engineering and Operations. Transform raw ideas into clear technical documents. Travel up to 50% to interact with internal and external business and technical leaders. Experience and qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 10+ years of experience in design, specification, project management and execution of large-scale, complex material handling systems, or related engineering disciplines; industrial, mechanical, electrical, chemical, or civil engineering; industrial or construction management. 5+ years managing core PM disciplines: scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting and metric development/tracking. Strong understanding of material handling equipment and systems integration. Experience in manufacturing/operations/supply chain analysis and process improvement (e.g., Lean Six Sigma). Proven track record of delivering complex technical projects on time and on budget. Excellent stakeholder management, cross-functional leadership, and communication skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrix environment and to use data to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes. Willingness to roll up sleeves and operate as an individual contributor when needed. Ability to travel up to 50% within the US. Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in Engineering or related technical field. Experience with material handling equipment integration and systems, conveyor control systems, automation, cross-belt sorters, and complex material handling systems. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and Six Sigma certification. Experience working with material handling OEMs and integration partners. Track record of establishing standardized processes and playbooks. Experience scaling technical project delivery organizations. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,900/year to $205,600/year, depending on location and experience.
