10+ years of facility maintenance leadership experience in a healthcare setting; prefer a certified healthcare facility manager. Coordinate all plant operations to ensure compliance with Department of Mental Health, JCAHO, CMS, and other regulatory agency standards. Direct oversight and management of Facility Services including Maintenance, Plant Operations, and coordination with Environmental Services. Based at Hill Crest Behavioral Health Services, with up to 25% time at Alabama Clinical Schools. Ensure adherence to applicable health care sanitation and plant operations standards; communicate and educate staff on these issues. Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering from a recognized college or university or a related field preferred; HSD/GED with related experience may be considered 10+ years of facility maintenance leadership experience in a healthcare setting; prefer a certified healthcare facility manager; required Current Driver’s license; required Specialized Skills And Knowledge
Planning, organizing, and achieving objectives; ability to lead and motivate staff Working knowledge of health care sanitation and plant operations for patient safety and infection prevention; ability to educate staff on these issues Knowledge of hospital/health care regulatory standards (JCAHO, CMS) and related EOC and Life Safety requirements Strong interpersonal communication, decision-making, and independent work capability Basic computer skills Essential Job Duties / Responsibilities
Safety Officer – serve as facility Safety Officer responsible for disaster, fire, and safety programs; oversee Safety Committee; conduct drills; coordinate safety inspections; establish safe work procedures; investigate accidents and implement corrective actions Maintenance / Environmental Services – supervise maintenance staff, coordinate urgent hospital repairs, develop budgets, monitor spending, schedule fire equipment inspections, perform inspections of building and equipment, ensure compliance with Environment of Care Plans, supervise Environment Service Manager and housekeeping coordination Attends mandatory in-services and complete applicable competencies Performs other duties as assigned Estimated time allocations: Safety Officer 45%; Maintenance/Environmental Services 45%; Other duties 5%.
