Responsibilities Kforce has a client that is seeking a Technical Writer in Tempe, AZ. Summary: The Software Technical Writer will be responsible for producing high-quality documentation that clarifies software functionality, assists users in troubleshooting, and supports developers in understanding system architecture and APIs. This role involves working closely with engineers, product managers, QA, and UX designers to translate technical information into understandable, accurate, and engaging content.
Develop, write, and maintain user guides, API documentation, release notes, FAQs, online help, and knowledge base articles.
Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and QA teams to gather technical details and ensure accuracy.
Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years as a Technical Writer in a software or technology environment.
Experience with single-sourcing, structured authoring, or content reuse strategies.
Experience writing developer-focused documentation (e.g., SDKs, APIs, integrations).
Experience with graphic or diagramming tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, Figma, Snagit).
Strong understanding of software development concepts, SDLC, APIs, and databases.
Basic knowledge of programming languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.) to interpret code samples.
Proficiency with documentation tools (e.g., MadCap Flare, RoboHelp, Confluence, Markdown, DITA, MS Office, or Git-based docs).
Ability to quickly grasp new technologies and explain them clearly.
Ability to prepare and present concepts and vision (written and verbal) to the software development team, management, and other internal and external stakeholders.
Candidate must be an excellent communicator, have strong attention to detail, and be a problem-solver/critical-thinker.
