Description The position is a front-line employee with direct customer contact, evaluating, repairing, assembling, and start-up services for valves, actuators, and general process control instrumentation. In addition to technical skills, people skills are vital for effective customer relationship management.
Repairs valves, actuators, (electric and pneumatic) and instrumentation at a customer's facility or at the Swanson Flo in-house repair locations.
Calibrates field instruments such as level, pressure, temperature, and flow transmitters.
Diagnoses customer problems, ensures proper use of tools and equipment, follows on-the-job safety practices, and maintains proper job documentation.
Troubleshoots process control equipment; including valves, actuators, and process control instrumentation repairs, completed either at the customer site or at the in-house repair facility.
Ensures all service to customer equipment is completed efficiently, on time, and according to specifications.
Assists with shop assembly needs as time permits.
Contributes to building excellent company/customer relations.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
3 – 5 years' experience in the repair of valves and actuation preferred.
Knowledge of industrial instrumentation, controls, and setup preferred.
A working knowledge of process control.
Strong interest in product technology as well as proven mechanical ability.
People skills to work effectively with company personnel and customers, promoting excellent customer relationships at all times.
Ability to obtain safety certifications.
Ability to read and interpret written work instructions, P&ID's, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and basic math skills.
Welding and machining experience is a plus.
Valid driver's license and a clear driving record are required.
Willingness to travel up to a week at a time when needed.
