Summary of Position with General Responsibilities: This role shall support Quality Assurance Inspection and/or Laboratory activities through inspection and verification of manufactured product, materials, and documentation associated with the manufacture of medical devices at this facility. In addition, this position shall support the Non-Conforming Product, Supplier Controls, and Validation Programs by performing such activities as investigating and processing MRRs, placing product on Quality Hold, managing rework, trending data, and creating and processing Change Requests.

What You Will Do Provide Quality Engineering support to Manufacturing teams. Support Material Review Board in areas of responsibility to investigate and correct quality failures. Work collaboratively to manage/prioritize workflow for self and others in area of responsibility to ensure Team and Plant goals are attained in a manner that optimizes workflow and productivity.

Assist in writing test and inspection procedures.

Assist in the development of appropriate corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Set up, maintain (PM Tasks), and operate complex inspection and test equipment (i.e., automated inspection equipment, Quadra-Check DROs, etc.).

Develop and perform complex inspection methods, i.e., multi-point diameters & radii, bolt-hole circles, intersection points, angles, etc.

Communicate effectively (orally and in writing) with co-workers, manufacturing teams, Engineering, and Management.

Actively apply Quality control concepts to meet compliance needs. (i.e., GMP, OSHA, Divisional and Corporate guidelines).

Manage/prioritize workflow for self and others in area of responsibility to ensure Team and Plant goals are attained.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

May generate CRs and Test Method Validations and perform MOB activities as needed.

Basic Qualifications

Excellent communications skill with ability to work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders

Mechanical aptitude, capable of operating inspection/test equipment.

Must be able to understand laboratory test method instructions.

Must be able to read and understand technical documents and blueprints

Ability to generate technical documents such as protocols and reports with assistance

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Statistical math skills up to trigonometry (must understand mean, std. deviations).

Demonstrated ability to understand and apply GMP and GDP principles and follow procedures

Preferred Qualifications

ASQ certification

Demonstrate an understanding of basic GD&T references (i.e., straightness, flatness, roundness, concentricity, runout, datum, etc.).

Demonstrate an understanding of Statistical process control and ability to use SPC software

Demonstrated leadership in area(s) of responsibility and/or fully trained in one or more of the following areas:

Education and/or Experience

Four-year degree in science or technical related field of study. --or-- Two-year degree and three (3) years of experience as a Quality Control Technician or equivalent inspection experience. --or-- HS Diploma, GED and a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Quality Control Technician or equivalent inspection experience.

Proficiency in reading, writing, and math skills including algebra, statistical math skills up to trigonometry. (Must understand mean and standard deviations).

Previous medical device manufacturing or inspection experience

Physical Demands Occasionally requires light physical effort as in periods of prolonged standing, sitting at machines or worktables or bending, stooping, or reaching and/or lifting of object from desk to chair weighing 30 lbs, above shoulder weighing 30 lbs, push/pull 64 lbs, chair to floor 50 lbs., carry 50 lbs (2 hands); 25 lbs. one hand. Will require some exposure to chemicals used in manufacturing processes

Work Environment Some minor physical inconvenience or discomfort occasionally present in the work situation (moderate noise, disagreeable odors, etc.). OR occasional exposure to minor injury or other health hazard requiring some precaution.

Training Requirements On-the-Job, SOP’s required for position and GMP.

Salary information: The salary range includes $22.70 - $35.20 USD per hour. Salary ranges may vary by location and role.
