How You’ll Make An Impact The First Article CMM Programmer / Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring aerospace components and assemblies meet engineering and customer requirements. This position requires expertise in Conventional and CMM inspection, PC-DMIS software, strong knowledge of aerospace inspection techniques, ASME 14.5 GD & T, and the ability to perform program, operate CMM’s for operational first article and final inspection processes.

What you’ll be doing as a First Article CMM Programmer / Inspector

Full-time onsite position at our Fife, WA location.

Inspect aerospace machined parts and assemblies using coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) running PC-DMIS software.

Conduct conventional inspections using hand tools such as height gauges, calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges.

Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102 and customer requirements.

Responsible for first part buy-off, in-process checks, final inspection, rejection tags, and supplier non-conformance notifications.

Interpret and apply engineering drawings, manufacturing plans, ASME Y14.5 GD&T, Catia, and Enovia to determine product requirements.

Collaborate and communicate non-capable machining processes with manufacturing.

Maintain and update inspection documents, staging sheets, and daily records.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain adherence to all safety guidelines, policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, Catia, and Enovia specifications.

Proficiency in PC-DMIS programming and operation.

Knowledge of aerospace inspection techniques, trigonometry, and measuring practices.

Experience with first article reports, recordkeeping, and documentation control.

Strong organizational skills with proven ability to multi-task in a fast‑paced environment.

Team player with a can‑do attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Hexagon Global CNC, Wenzel CMM, PC-DMIS, Veri‑surf (Wenzel)

Renishaw Revo 2 5 axis CMM head, in‑machine profilometer attachment

Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a QA Inspector in the aerospace industry

Hands‑on experience with CMMs, geometric tolerances, and precision measurement equipment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and MRP systems.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs.

Reach forward, up, down and to the side in order to move equipment.

Continuous standing and walking throughout the workday.

Ability to reach with hands and arms; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel material.

Access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.

Work Environment A large percentage of work time is spent in a machine shop where temperatures vary from hot to cold. The environment may also include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vapor from coolant, etc. Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required.

Compensation And Benefits Employee Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, long‑term disability and 401(k) with up to 6% QACA company match.

The First Article CMM Programmer/Inspector Compensation range for onsite Washington applicants is $36 – 50/hr. commensurate with experience. Some shifts may include shift differential pay rates. Other site ranges may differ.

Export Control Compliance This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements. A US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required.
