CMM Programmer Shift: 1st shift Salary: $28–$32 per hour, depending on experience Who we are: We are a trusted preferred supplier of precision machined components for top players in the aerospace, energy, and defense industries. Located in Mentor, OH, we specialize in short-run production, which allows our team to work on a wide variety of interesting parts, ranging from commercial airframes to rocket propulsion units.

CMM Programmer Role: The CMM Programmer is responsible for developing, creating, and maintaining Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspection programs to ensure manufactured products meet strict quality standards. This critical role exists to ensure the dimensional accuracy and compliance of all components before they proceed through the production process.

CMM Programmer Responsibilities:

Develop and write CMM programs using PC-DMIS software to inspect complex parts and assemblies

Program and operate Nikon CMM equipment, ensuring accurate and repeatable measurements

Interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) from engineering drawings and specifications

Conduct First Article Inspections (FAIRs) and in-process checks using the CMM

Analyze measurement data and generate detailed inspection reports for quality and engineering teams

Select, set up, and maintain probes and fixturing solutions for inspection routines

Troubleshoot and optimize existing CMM programs to improve efficiency and accuracy

Maintain accurate documentation and records of CMM programs and inspection results

CMM Programmer Reporting Relationships: The candidate will report to the Quality Manager or Director of Quality Operations and will not have any direct reports.

About You: Demonstrate direct, hands‑on experience programming and operating with PC‑DMIS software

Possess deep experience on Nikon Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) is ideal

Read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications

Apply expert knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards

Utilize manual inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges

Manage multiple inspection tasks in a fast‑paced, high‑precision manufacturing environment

Exhibit strong analytical skills and an ability to identify and resolve quality issues

Communicate clearly and effectively with cross‑functional manufacturing and engineering teams
