Role Summary Associate Overhead Transmission Line Structural Engineer 1
– full‑time, non‑relocation, non‑visa sponsorship position. This staff role supports global high‑voltage (345 kV+) transmission projects including rebuild, greenfield, HVDC, and 765 kV initiatives. The engineer will perform design engineering, compute analyses, develop equipment recommendations, and contribute to project schedules, budgets, and quality deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
Support global transmission projects by performing design engineering and analysis of transmission line work.
Assist in large, extensive 345 kV+ rebuild and greenfield projects, including emerging technologies like HVDC and 765 kV.
Collect and assimilate data; conduct research and prepare calculations in accordance with Black & Veatch and industry standards.
Develop recommendations for equipment and materials while maintaining project budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
Provide guidance to engineering team members, maintain positive client relations, and support business‑development activities as required.
Qualifications
Preferred:
Experience with utility‑scale projects.
Familiarity with PLS‑CADD, PLS‑Pole, LPile, MFAD, Sag10, or Ultralite.
Basic structural steel and concrete experience with 3‑D analysis/design software.
Solid skill in Excel or similar spreadsheets and MathCAD design templates.
Knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards.
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program in the region of practice.
Minimum of 1 year related work experience.
Completion of pre‑employment onboarding requirements, including background checks and drug screenings, as required by law.
Compensation & Benefits Annual salary range: $68,838.00 – $130,650.00. Benefits include a company‑matched 401(k) plan, adoption reimbursement, vendor discounts, AD&D insurance, pre‑taxed accounts, an employment referral program, and a performance‑based bonus program.
