Sr. Principal Aircraft Dynamics Engineer - Aeroelastics - R10209814 at Northrop Grumman, Melbourne, FL. This opportunity is contingent on program funding with start dates determined after funding confirmation. Responsibilities

The team member will be expected to perform analysis for aeroelastics and aeroservoelastic responses. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter, proactive and forward-thinking, able to work with a small team to rapidly resolve complex technical loads problems, and able to convey complex technical problems diplomatically to engineering disciplines and leadership. The candidate should be able to work well in a team environment and collaborate across flight controls, mass properties, stress, and mechanism teams. The ideal candidate would have experience in the advanced development environment and understand the depth of analysis required. Basic Qualifications

Senior Principal Engineer level: Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in a STEM discipline and 8 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science (MS) and 6 years of relevant experience OR PhD with 4 years of relevant engineering and/or lab experience Experience with aeroelastic analysis Ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company Preferred Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering with an emphasis on aircraft loads (flight loads, ground loads) Active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) Advanced knowledge of detailed ground and flight loads and load mitigation Strong foundation in aeroelastic analysis with a strong foundation in structural dynamics and aerodynamic modeling Experience with industry standard loads and dynamics analysis software such as NASTRAN, PATRAN, FEMAP, ZONAIR, ZAERO, ZEUS Experience with MATLAB and CAD Tools (NX) Salary and Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00. The salary range represents a general guideline; base salary offers consider scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Depending on the position, overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus may be available. Annual bonuses may reward individual contributions; long-term incentives may apply for VP/Director roles.
