The Field Service Engineer (FSE) services and maintains all product lines for Olympus America medical products. Under supervision of the Manager and Senior FSE Trainer, the FSE provides expert level technical support to assigned equipment. Responsibilities
Establish and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction with assigned products, support and service. Respond to customer inquiries and maintain regulatory compliance and adherence to company quality systems. Train customers on the basic operation and use of assigned products. Provide feedback on product questions, workflow issues and field performance; recommend service improvements. Perform new equipment installations, upgrades, post-installation testing, troubleshooting and other technical support tasks for all assigned products. Escalate unresolved product problems to service management in a timely manner. Open communication with territory Sales Representative. Provide support at conventions, trade shows and customer trials. Develop and maintain field contact with key customers, clinicians and researchers; travel to customer facilities for onsite support. Adhere to customer vendor credentialing requirements when visiting medical facilities. Qualifications
Required:
Associate degree in electronics, computer science, or related technical discipline, or minimum four years of equivalent experience (including military technical experience). Minimum 1–3 years as a Field Service Engineer or equivalent experience. Valid driver’s license. Basic understanding of computer systems, video, audio and control system concepts; solid knowledge of electronics, PC hardware and software. Experience with electromechanical/microprocessor-based products and troubleshooting. Experience with Microsoft Office applications. Strong customer service skills and ability to work with field personnel, management and customers. Self-starter, highly organized, able to multitask, with excellent communication and presentation skills; able to foster teamwork. Willingness to travel >60%, including overnight and short-notice travel. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends. Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree. Experience with medical devices. CompTIA Net+, CompTIA A+ or similar certifications. Working knowledge of networking, hospital information systems, DICOM/PACS. Experience with video display and video routing systems. Why join Olympus?
