Nurse Clinician - Cardiology Work Schedule:

This position involves 10-hour shifts as needed, about 1-3 shifts a month, possibly more.

The Ambulatory Nurse Clinician promotes optimal wellness by supporting health maintenance, managing acute illness, and overseeing chronic disease and disability care across the continuum. This involves face-to-face or electronic interactions, utilizing critical thinking and nursing processes to care for patients and caregivers with complex healthcare needs, integrating education, experiential knowledge, and evidence-based guidelines. Acting as a partner, advocate, support, and teacher, the Nurse Clinician provides optimal management of the child's healthcare, respecting their culture, values, and individual needs. They facilitate continuity of care through nursing processes, inter-professional collaboration, and care coordination, supporting the whole child by assessing and providing access to healthcare services and community resources across the care continuum. What you will need:

Current license to practice nursing in Wisconsin. Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross. Education:

Associates degree in Nursing. Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of Pediatric Nursing experience, especially managing patients with chronic and complex needs. Cardiac knowledge is preferred. Effective skills using a developmental approach for neonatal to young adult patients. Ability to work with patients with intellectual and physical disabilities in a developmentally appropriate manner. Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records. Independent judgment and analytical skills for problem-solving and decision-making. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for discussing sensitive issues with patients and caregivers. Professional representation of the organization and its services. Expertise in active listening and therapeutic communication.
